Dr Heindel is a Professor of Psychology, the Dean of the College of Professional Studies, and the Director of the Center for Human and Social Development at Saint Elizabeth University. At the Center is housed the School Culture and Climate Initiative which she co-founded and co-directs with Elizabeth Hansen Warner. She is also the co-director with Maurice Elias, Ph.D. of Rutgers, of the (on-line) Academy for Social-emotional Learning in Schools. Dr Heindel was also a founding member of SEL4NJ and currently serves as Vice-President and Treasurer. Dr Heindel often speaks both regionally and nationally on school climate and SEL.
