Restorative Justice - a model with its roots in Indigenous teachings - can help camps meet current needs they are facing. This connects to community building, staff engagement, addressing changing camper behaviors, and responding to conflict by providing circles of support for both campers and staff who are navigating challenging situations. In this session we will focus on "restorative chats", a specific conversation technique that invites connection and deepens relationships inside moments of conflict with both campers and staff. Participants will learn the theory behind Restorative Justice and practice the skill of engaging in restorative chats.
