Bridgette Barbera-Byrne's career has allowed her to make a meaningful impact in youth development for over 20 years, while also pursuing my passion for DEIB work. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, she learned early on the importance of leading with authenticity and visibility. This openness has encouraged many staff members to share their true identities with Bridgette.
It's essential that our camps remain welcoming spaces for campers, their families, and our staff, fostering inclusive cultures where everyone can thrive. Growing up without seeing representation of her community made Bridgette feel invisible, which drives her personal mission to ensure all dimensions of diversity are represented.
