OAAARS
Simone Gamble (they/them) is the founder of OAAARS, a consultancy led by BIPOC professionals that provides social justice-focused training to foster safer, more equitable workplaces and empower agents of change within organizations and communities. A community organizer from the Bronx, Simone holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Hunter College and the Silberman School of Social Work, specializing in Secondary Education, History, Social Work, and Community Organizing.
Simone has facilitated workshops for camps, nonprofits, schools, and after-school programs, emphasizing the creation of safer spaces for BIPOC individuals and other marginalized communities through an intersectional and anti-oppressive approach. Their involvement in the camping world began in childhood when their mother enrolled them in a day camp at age 10. By 18, they began a decade-long career at a camp in upstate New York, advancing from counselor to assistant camp director.
