In this Dining Hall Session, we will quickly go over some ground rules, and then hop right into questions about how gendered elements of camp can be helpful, sometimes limiting, and even hurtful. For many gendered spaces can lead to a sense of belonging, but for a growing number (and not just trans* and non-binary campers) gendered spaces can lead to feelings of being left out, or not being able to participate in the ways they want to due to binary expectations. Come with an open mind, and an open heart. Led by Chris Rehs-Dupin, a trans man, who has participated in and constructed both binary (male and female) spaces, spaces that are intentionally for people of all genders, and spaces that are a combination of both.
